1. BE RECOGNIZEDAS AN EXPERT IN YOUR FIELD
If you desire to stand out from the crowd, and want to achieve something different and non-conventional as opposed to the rest of the people, then try your hand in being an influencer. Display a strong personality and a commanding personal brand, to set the different trends in your sector.

2. EARN A MANAGEMENT POSITION:
It’s in human nature to get bored from the same old routine and same old work, so after working for some time, every person has a desire to step forward in their careers. You need to realize what goals you need to achieve, mostly short term, and then find the determination to achieve them. This will bring you much closer to your dream position. If the dream position is executive or a management position then the time span for the goal could stretch from 6 months to ten years, respective to the field that you’re in.
3. STRIVE FOR A PROMOTION
What does it take to get promoted? It is a long term goal for which you need an unwavering commitment. You need to put in an additional effort and extra hours to achieve your goal like take up more projects, do extra work, update to a refined resume and develop relationship with other department members. It will require a constant execution, planning and commitment on your end.
4. START A BUSINESS
You are considered to be a successful person, if you start up your own business, or open up your personal practice, without answering to anybody in simpler terms; be your own boss. It doesn’t necessarily depend on your age, but it’s seen that youngsters between the age 18 and 34 have greater aspiration to start up their own business. You just need to jot down a list of short term goals, and fulfill them in order to open up your own personal business.

The idea of a career goal for majority of people is to find a job. As job seeking is a long process, you need to be patient and steadfast. Set yourself some short term goals and then achieve it to reach closer to your dream job.
6. EARN A DEGREE OR CERTIFICATE:
If you want to get a head start in your career and become one step closer to your goal then you need to acquire a good degree or a certificate. When you step out to hunt for a job, it is necessary that you should have education, relevant knowledge or degree. After having an appropriate education, then the road towards your career goal becomes clear.
7. TO INCREASE SALES:
The most obvious way for an entrepreneur to generate or increase their income is to increase the sales of their product or services. You may take easy steps like give out fliers or complex steps like evolving a strategic plan; you always have to have a fix time in which you should achieve your goals realistically.
8. TO CUT COSTS:
To cumulate profits, cutting costs is also an effective method used by entrepreneurs. This can be done by reducing sizes or discovering a new supplier and just like increase in sales; the entrepreneur should set a realistic for himself.
9. TO OBTAIN IDEAL EMPLOYMENT OR EMPLOYMENT IN YOUR PREFERRED FIELD
In search of jobs most people tend to start working in an industry which is not relevant with their acquired education, knowledge and field. Some start to work part time, temporarily or even permanently. In January 2013, the Senate Republican Policy Committee declared that 8 million Americans wished to work full time while being employed in part time job. When you start working in a new place make sure to have the desired timeline, in which you would like to work, so that once that time is up, you can start looking for your dream job.
10. GET THAT GREAT JOB
The escalation of people needs to live a good life, has led them to just have some kind of job, regardless of whether it coincides with their interests or not. As long as the money is flowing in, they are happy. So if you fall in this category of people you can set yourself some short term goals, before reaching your dream career, but for this you need to have some patience, as finding a job require patience, dedication and time.
